Hi {name_here},
Summer’s in the air, inflation’s everywhere, and dental practices all over the country are doing their best to adapt to the dynamic, shifting landscape under their feet.
To better prepare myself to help you avoid hitting any bumps in the road, I’ve been keeping a steady eye on industry trends that have the potential to create challenges for practices like yours over the coming weeks and months.
Here are a few that have caught my attention lately:
In April 2022, DentistryIQ published the contents of an email from the Health Policy Institute (HPI). In it, their Senior Health Policy Analyst indicated that in early 2022, staffing issues remained "the most significant concern among dentists." In addition, it noted that 92% of dentists recruiting dental hygienists said it has been "extremely" or "very" challenging, and nearly 86% felt the same for recruiting dental assistants.
Of the dentists surveyed [by HPI and the ADA], over half of respondents said they are prescribing more night guards for patients than before the pandemic.
In addition, the ADA, together with the HPI, is releasing the data from monthly polls completed by over 3,000 dentists from across the U.S. A whopping 57-page report; here are a few of the most intriguing excerpts from the Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry for the week of March 14, 2022.
While I continue to keep my eye on pertinent trends in our industry, I would also love to hear about what your office is struggling with most as of late. Your feedback helps me create content tailored to your specific (and shifting) needs and provides invaluable insights that I can use in my coach-led training.
Feel free to provide me with any additional insights you may have or reach out with any questions - especially those inspired by this email!
Sincerely,
Missy Pollard

Team coaching tailored to your practice

Hi {name_here},
A lot of people in this industry talk a lot about giving you the tools you need to run a successful practice. And while tools are a necessary component of learning to manage a successful business, when it comes to my coach-led training, I prefer to think of it more like this:
I don’t just give you and your team the right tools.
I give YOU the keys to the toolbox!
20 years working in the dental industry has taught me several things, not the least of which is what a critical difference it makes to the success of your practice once you implement a dedicated expert whose sole mission is to train your team.
When you’re part of a team that works together day in and day out, it’s harder to see the bigger picture and easier to overlook long-term goals in the name of short-term growth.
This one-on-one coach-led training tackles that.
Honed over years of working directly with practices just like yours, I help you to develop a training roadmap using a step-by-step system that includes:
A custom intake session
This is a chance for you to talk while I listen. During our intake session, we will take a deep dive into the challenges facing your team, as well as your short- and long-term goals, mission, and the values you wish to instill in your team members. This information will guide me in developing a customized 6-month training roadmap for you going forward.
Practice growth strategy
Alongside your 6-month training roadmap, we will work together to develop a strategy to define, outline, and improve your processes and systems with your front office and back office teams. It will include a clearly defined map of the individual roles and responsibilities assigned to each team member to reduce friction, eliminate confusion, and improve efficiency.
Bi-monthly strategy calls
We will schedule a bi-monthly online call to go over your team’s progress and assess any individual challenges you’re having or obstacles your team members have made you aware of. This is a chance to evaluate your team’s goals on a micro level and keep you laser-focused on reaching the short-term finish line.
Weekly milestones
You and your team can look forward to dynamic new training assignments each week that test your knowledge and flex your customer service skills. I create and choose these assignments specifically for your team to ensure that you focus on strengthening the weakest areas of their skill set.
Monthly progress reports
As your team progresses through our training, you will receive a monthly report that summarizes their progress and makes specific recommendations for areas of improvement. I make every effort to follow your team closely so that no one is left behind in the training and each person feels ready to implement what they have learned before moving on.
S.O.S. call
Every once in a while, even the most capable amongst us need help putting out a fire (and isn’t it wonderful to have someone you can count on to help you tame the blaze!). This 30-minute S.O.S. call with me is expressly designed for the urgent and the unexpected, be it a last-minute staff turnover or a new hire gone wrong.
With over 20 years of experience in dental office management, I have developed a deep understanding of the need for effective communication and processes in creating an unforgettable experience for your patients.
Only available to Front Office Rocks members, this coach-led training will help you hone in on your pain points and alleviate critical practice issues today.

Identify and Reach Your Practice Goals with Coach-Led Training

Expert advice. Thorough training. Real results.

Hi {name_here},
During my last appearance in your inbox, I walked you through the step-by-step system I use to help practice managers like you develop a training roadmap for your team.
But if your mind works anything like mine, you don’t just want to know how something works - you want to know what kind of results you can expect.
In other words, what does my coach-led training help your team do?
I’m going to answer that… I am.
But before I do, let’s look at what happens when a dental practice does NOT invest in training their team.
These are screenshots taken from anonymous Glassdoor reviews written by former employees of one of the biggest DSOs in the nation. Notice anything similar between them? Like the word ‘chaos,’ for example?
Reviews like this tell me that many practices continue to skip practice management training despite it being the single most fundamental ingredient to their success.
On the other hand, these reviews and those like them also help me refine my processes, gain a window into what teams around the country are facing, and motivate me to continue doing my job.
But I digress.
Let’s get back to what my coach-led training helps your team do, shall we?
To start, we work on defining your credo. Aligned with your core values, it behaves as a lighthouse - guiding every decision you and your team make. Because only once you understand what kind of office you want to be and what kind of values you want to emulate can you drive towards them with purposeful determination.
Next, I get to work on identifying the strengths and weaknesses in your team so that I can help you improve the latter with specific strategies. I have found that recognizing the gifts of others is a gift itself, and I feel fortunate to count this among my strengths. This exploration can bring about tremendous growth as team members are free to focus on their strengths rather than trying to compensate for talents they do not possess.
Once this basic foundation is set, I move on to developing short- and long-term goals for your practice. The entire team is involved in the process, and I work to keep you focused on achieving what is realistic and attainable. This narrower focus, combined with consistent milestones, creates momentum, excitement, and further motivation.
The last step in the first phase of our coach-led training is to define the roles and responsibilities of each team member. It may sound obvious, but it is one of the most common problems faced by practices. A successful, expertly-led office needs a clear understanding of what each person is responsible for, who they report to, and your expectations for them.
Front Office Rocks expanded to include this coach-led training after receiving hundreds of requests from practices like yours saying they felt they could benefit even more from our material if they could also get some one-on-one time with us.
Well, here I am!
Through a focused approach that follows the core lessons in our online training, I will guide you through the steps necessary to build a dream team aligned with your values, credo, and goals.
To begin, click on the link below, and I will reach out to you within 48 hours to schedule our customized intake session or answer any questions you may have.
And remember, my friends…
Leave the tools. Take the toolbox!

Missy Pollard

How Coach-Led Training Helps You Solve Your Practice's Most Pressing Issues
Pre-header:
Learn how I identify the cause of your major pain points…

Hi {name_here},
I've spent a few emails now discussing some of the most pressing issues facing dental practices today. Things like:
● Recruiting new team members
● Patient cancellations
● Building office culture
● Increasing revenue
● Implementing consistent processes
I even went over the step-by-step system I use in my coach-led training to help practice managers and owners like you develop a goal-oriented roadmap for your team.
What I would like to do now is hone in on how this system can help your team reach its goals in consistent, measurable increments and include some of the methods I use to solve your most pressing issues.
Let’s begin by pretending that we have identified a low case acceptance rate as one of your major pain points.
How might I attack that over a 3-6 month period?
First, I need to find out why you have a low case acceptance rate. And it usually requires some detective work. (There is always a cause behind your pain point; the hard part is finding out what it is.)
So I break it down during the discovery phase.
I begin by looking for patterns. Do some months have a lower case acceptance rate than others? Is there a particular team member who is not closing the case? Is there a specific procedure with a lower case acceptance rate than others?
The answers come from the right data. The right data comes from asking the right questions. Once I have that, I can strategize the next moves for your team.
Often, it leads back to a particular team member.
It could stem from the fact that they lack confidence when speaking to patients.
Or, maybe they don't feel they have adequate time to present treatment to patients because they are overwhelmed with other duties.
For the sake of our example, let’s say it’s a bit of both.
What now?
I may begin by asking you to make celebrating your team’s wins a part of your regular weekly schedule to help boost their confidence. I may also recommend role-playing techniques and further training using specific materials.
As for poor time management at the office, we would tackle that in other ways. We begin by examining your system for delegating tasks, and if you don’t have one, we create it. If your system for tracking staff accountability and performance is anemic, we first need to build a bullet-proof system for assigning clear roles and responsibilities to each team member.
So you see how a seemingly simple pain point – low case acceptance – can be tied to so many other processes within your practice?
It is precisely why we began to offer coach-led training to our Front Office Rocks members in the first place. So many of you loved our resource-rich platform, but felt that what you were learning with us could be enhanced with one-on-one time that focuses on getting to the heart of the issues facing your business.
When we work together, I have one purpose – to improve your practice with measurable results.
Even the best of practices are troubled by specific issues. The faster you tackle any challenges and roadblocks today, the less likely you are to be dealing with them tomorrow.
Schedule a call with me today to explore some of the issues faced by your practice and find out how coach-led training can help solve them.
Leave the tools. Take the toolbox!
Sincerely,
Missy Pollard
